My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : I am NYS certified in Literacy (grades 5-12) and English (grades 7-12), although I have several years of experience with children as young as Kindergarten.

Holding active NYS certifications in both English and Literacy has had a tremendous impact on the way I teach. I find myself much better able to engage struggling students. Quite often, particularly when it comes to reading, it is the lack of basic comprehension skills that prevent students from being able to fully engage with a text and to perform critical thinking tasks. I do not have a teaching style as this implies that I or anyone can really teach another how to write. Writing is not taught in a way that science can be taught or grammar can be taught. Writing (and learning grammar and memorizing vocabulary lists are not learning how to write) is learned and my job -- as tutor or college composition instructor -- is to help students at all levels find their voice and style and indentify the challenges they face whenever they write.
