Typing Skills is one of my top subjects!

However, the interruption in my 11 years clerical career to become a full time housewife, homemaker, caregiver, child care provider while taking special care of my health and furthering my education, has provided much to my experiences. My style of teaching varies with the child, their age, personality, subject, and amount of time we have. Besides teaching 2nd grade religion for 14 years my daughter has ADD. I have worked with kids who need to keep moving while they learn, to kids who need complete quiet. Some kids are more visual learners; others need to act the lesson out, while others do fine quietly reading. The important thing is to make it interesting so they WANT to learn. Older kids with a higher level of maturity don't require as entertaining a lesson. They want to see how to apply what they are learning to their life. To know there is a reason to learn makes them WANT to learn, understanding WHY they will need to know the information makes the learning easier.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is practical. I try to relate the accounting principles and axioms to a situation the student is familiar with in there everyday lives, i.e., grocery store, bank, their car, house, etc. Once the principle is understood with clarity, I proceed to implement the principle with extensive problem solving until the student feels comfortable with their proficiency in recognizing the principle and knowing how to apply it.
