I believe that every student I have ever worked with has been more than capable of understanding and excelling at whatever material we are working on. The problem I often see is either a lack of focus or loss of determination/ confidence due to not agreeing or benefiting from their teachers teaching style. With this in mind I gain an understanding of what the student understands and work with them to let them figure the problems out trying multiple approaches and explanations.
Besides my degree in BioChemistry I have also completed minors in cellular/molecular biology, and art. While studying at Albion college I worked on two separate college funded research teams as well as worked as a TA with large groups of students as well as small groups.
