I am a credentialed elementary teacher, but have experience tutoring K-12, both in person and virtually. I began tutoring virtually starting in mid 2019 and refined my skills during the pandemic when everything became virtual. "Scaffolding" is the best means by which to teach so that the student understands the significance of the lesson. Too often, teachers play sage-on-stage, thereby neglecting to connect what the student already knows with the new material.

Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! Reading is something I do for pleasure. It does not mean anything if a person can read the words, but cannot understand what the text is saying. I really enjoy helping others find pleasure in reading, and also helping them break down the text to understand what the writer is really saying between the lines of the pages.

I am able to effectively teach a group of kids, and I am also comfortable with the one on one teaching style. Regardless of the environment, I know how to make sure the needs of every student is met.
I have always had the ability to effectively teach my family, peers, and other classmates. However, I recently decided to get into the field of tutoring.
