Writing is one of my top subjects! I have had a large amount of writing experience in high school and college. I had an 800 on the Writing section of the SAT. I can tutor students regarding general writing skills, help them with specific papers, or prepare them for standardized writing exams.

I have tutored a wide variety students on many subjects. I am most experienced tutoring high school students for the SAT. I worked with Let's Get Ready, a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing high school students for the SAT and their college search process. I typically tutored students for the Math section, but I am capable of tutoring for the Critical Reading and Writing sections as well. Some of my other tutoring experiences have been with middle and high school students. I have tutored several students in math, from middle school level general math to high school Calculus I. I have aided many of my friends throughout high school and college with writing, editing and general English knowledge. In addition to helping many of my friends and classmates I also edited countless pages of my own work in a great variety of subjects. I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in English after taking courses in various fields on the subject. I received high marks in class ranging from general rhetoric to creative writing, as well analytical literature courses.

I graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and then received my Master's degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Educational Technology. I have done extensive work in the technology department at our school and continue to work with SMART products teaching other teachers how to use technology in their classrooms.

I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children.
