I am an Indiana resident and professional since 1979; Spanish native speaker proficient in conversational, reading and writing Spanish. I volunteered in two Pan American Games (1979 and 1987) helping close the gap between English and Spanish athletes and personnel. I currently provide Spanish translation and interpreter assistance at my employer and my church on an as needed basis. I like to explain and teach as close as possible to "natural" Spanish.

My comments on tutoring World History : Taken both high school and college level World History classes. Focus is on European History from Greek to post World War II.

I am currently a senior at Indiana Univeristy Kokomo. I will graduate in spring 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Leadership Studies as well as International Studies/Relations. My college coursework has a focus on psychology but my degree requires me to have a very liberal education, as such, I have taken classes in english, history, sciences, economics, government, and many others. I am a student leader and have been for the past two years. I am currently Student Body President of IU Kokomo and represent over 3,000 students. Past leadership expereices include being psychology club treadurer and president, orientation leader, and student senator. I have supplemented my college education by working on a behavioral/mental health unit. Both settings of education included years of math and science, and in high school four years of writing, English, and history. I would characterize my teaching style as relationally oriented. I want the student to know that I care about him or her. I may not articulate as much, but I want the student to see that I am giving my time to serve their needs and not my own. Loosely speaking, I am also a proponent of multiple intelligences. The creative teacher can usually identify a way to relate material and content using a methodology that connects. My teaching style is based in facts. I philosophically reject radical post-modernity which posits that truth is a moving target. The student does not have the right to tell me that 1+1 = 3 because 1+1 = 2.
