My comments on tutoring Writing : I worked as a teacher in a private school for children with dyslexia. My position was as a Language Fundamentals Teacher and I was trained using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching. This is a multi-sensory approach and very highly regarded as a successful approach for children with dyslexia and reading disabilities. It includes tutoring for reading, reading comprehension, writing, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and other skills related to English basics. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development from Vanderbilt University with a specialization in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same.
