I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated college in 1985 and then pursued many different jobs over the last 25 years. My degree in History/Political Science allowed me to be something of a jack-of-all trades in respect to my career. I have done both office work and factory work as well as customer service. However, my last job is perhaps most relevant to this position, because I was in South Korea for 3 1/2 years teaching English to South Korean children ages 5 to 15. Even though I do not possess formal training or certification in the United States, I learned hands on and developed my own teaching style that was both effective and fun for the kids so that they learned alot, and my boss was happy.

I ask a lot of questions to get the students thinking. I believe in teaching young people and the adults I have worked with to think critically fist. Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear.
