I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of North Carolina in December of 2007. From there, I chose to move to Massachusetts to participate in a ground breaking fellowship at MATCH Charter Public High School. I chose this alternate route to receiving teaching certification because of the classroom experience it provided me. In addition to earning certification and completing student teaching hours, I tutored for 20-30 hours a week in all subject areas in grades 9, 10, and 11. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, writing, history, and biology.
I am a passionate teacher and tutor. I believe that there is not a minute to waste when working with youth, and I like to conduct vigorous tutorials and well-paced classes. As an honors graduate of Ohio Valley University, I acquired the skills and training necessary to effectively teach elementary age children as well as math students of all ages. I have superior skills in math and technology, but also possess extensive experience with writing and editing due to the current pursuit of a graduate degree. Throughout the past nine years, I have tutored many students in various subjects ranging from basic literacy skills to advanced calculus.
