My tutoring strategies: -throughout my experiences, I realized that each person is different and require different teaching methods depending on the individual's preference -I prefer to use study skills that will benefit the individual; I have a variety of strategies depending on the subject as well. some individuals learn well using flashcards, while others prefer repetitive writing for memorization - I have had a couple of ADHD clients that prefer learning games and activities because it helps them stay active, but focused at the same time

My teaching style is very flexible depending on the student. I select programs which best fits the student, rather than forcing a student into a specific program that I prefer. My comments on tutoring American History : I minored in history as an undergrad, and had a few courses in American history.

I finished as an undergraduate with a major in economics, and minors in history, philosophy and religion. Next I worked for a year as a political risk analyst for a large multinational company helping them evaluate risks inherent to investing in unfamiliar environments. I found I enjoyed the work, but wanted to get more economics training with the hope of teaching economics. I moved from the for-profit company to their non-profit foundation that sponsored economic research, and spent the next 4 years evaluating grants in the area of economics, public policy, law and political science. I always found that one of my favorite parts of my job was teaching those I supervised about economics and government. I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. Throughout high school I was a teacher's assistant helping with students in class during my study halls as well as working one on one with students for extra study skills. In the past few years I have tutored students in elemtary math, middle school reading and writing, and even my own students before and after school in social studies. I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect.
