I have taught middle school language arts for 15 years in both public and private schools. I excel in teaching young people how to write clearly, completely, and concisely. While I can teach them grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and research skills. CONTENT often comes from the heart rather than the head. My comments on tutoring Composition : I have taught writing and composition to all three of my older children. I emphasized mastering writing simple, compoound and complex sentences, various styles of paragraphs with a good attention-grabbing sentence and conclusionary remarks. We used the book, Mastering the 5-Paragraph Essay and learned to write various types of essayd: narrative, compare-contrast, expositon, persuasive and literary analysis.

I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I completed more training through a teacher mentor program through Plymouth State College to gain my Special Education certification in NH. I took 9 credits towards my masters at Keene State in the area of Special Education. Communication Disorders not only includes speech, but language as well. I have gained knowledge about how children read and write and why some children may have problems with this. A Little Bit About Me...

Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the greatest thing about knowledge is the ability to share it. I love to learn, but that is only the first step. The true reward comes in being able to impart that knowledge of someone else. However, each person learns differently. Whether in a classroom setting or one-on-one tutoring, it is imperative that the teacher learn how each student learns.
