Having homeschooled my children (eldest is attending a top 20 public university)and volunteering extensively in the school community, I have become familiar with a wide variety of learning styles. My legal background has prepared me for tutoring in that I am able to effectively communicate with the student and present the material in a manner conducive to a learning experience(similar to explaining legalese to a lay person). Above all, I strive to ensure that the student has a true understanding of the materials, as opposed to simple memorization. I strongly encourage the student to take an analytical approach to learning, and to view both sides of any issue so that true understaning of the subject matter is achieved.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two BS degrees in Business and Public Health and a certificate in mass communication and journalism from Fresno State. I am also I currently work for California Teaching Fellows as a substitute tutor. This company employs after school tutors in Fresno County. I help students from grades K-12 with homework and engage them in enrichment activities.
I believe that students need structure. This allows children to understand what is expected of them and gives them consistency in their lives. Structure ultimately helps children focus on their work and not worry about being on the defense.
