Since attending college, I have been infatuated with teaching. To learn the best strategies for teaching chemistry to students, I took a course entitled, “Instructional Techniques in Chemistry,” and served as the sole laboratory instructor for two sections of general chemistry during my undergraduate studies. During high school I took several AP tests and at the same time earned the International Baccalaureate diploma, so I understand very well the pressures involved. I believe there is a major difference between teaching the student how to get a good grade and mastering the fundamental concepts that control math and science. When helping a student with Algebra, it is critical to asses their basic skills in mathematical operations.
