Israeli general ed, Hebrew and music teacher!

I just moved to Boston from Israel after finishing my service to the IDF. I will be beginning Berklee College of Music this fall for Songwriting and Music Education. I have taught private lessons for guitar and bass guitar students of all ages, skill levels and backgrounds since November 2007. I can teach many styles of music such as traditional classical, rock, blues, jazz and funk. I currently hold a teaching position in Billerica, MA.
My approach to teaching is to first make a general assessment of the student's skill level and having the student play what he or she is comfortable with on their instrument. A Little Bit About Me...

The temptation as instructor is to simply restructure the way in which a student learns in order to fit your view, and those I have helped encourage such behavior. Guidance, suggestions, and allusions as to how a student can improve and understand is a better alternative. Simply doing the work for the student has little value in regards to education. A fine balance must be struck between open ended comments of little use and high jacking creativity through re-working large portions of work. My policy is to make the student aware of their shortcomings, explain my reasoning, and use enigmatic reserve in telling them how to correct errors.
