Helping students to Become Life Long Learners

I have worked with many different ages of children as a tutor and volunteer. I worked for the America Reads program at IUPUI while I was working on my degree. I was a reading coach and was in charge of working with elementary students that struggled with reading and comprehension. I also volunteered as a reading coach for the HOSTS program at Garden City Elementary School. I worked as a synthetic organic chemist at Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company for five years. I spent the next 20+ years as a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler, teaching my three children from kindergarten until they graduated from high school.(My two oldest are now college graduates and the third is presently in college.) As an engineer and manager, training employees was an integral component of work performed throughout my ten-year professional career. I created systems and procedures, followed by training and "tutoring" for successful implementation. I also worked for the university during my college years as a Chemistry coach.
