Writing is one of my top subjects!

Since graduating from my undergraduate program in 2007, I have had a passion for teaching and learning. My first teaching experience was working in Camden, New Jersey. I served as an intern art teacher for at-risk first through third graders in an after school/summer school program. Shortly thereafter I started my Master's program, where I integrated my passion for teaching into my capstone project. I was given the opportunity to teach at-risk fifth through eighth graders basic life and business skills, which included everything from how to calculate simple interest to how to apply for college. Around the same time, my goddaughter, now eleven, was diagnosed with learning disabilities. Working as a Spanish Interpreter, I work with pre-school aged children. I work with them during their therapy time, especially in Speech Therapy. I enjoy being able to help these young students overcome many obstacles that they are facing. I am very patient with them and considerate of their different needs.
