With a master’s degree and two bachelor degrees, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of positions in the education field. I was the first Wellness Coordinator hired in one northern school district, allowing me to relate with both students and teachers at a state and national level. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time. I believe that different teaching styles help different students. A method of both lecture and active learning can be effective for the widest range of students. This allows the students to get a brief introduction to the day’s material before they work in groups on questions about the material.
