A Little Bit About Me...

In high school I went up to A.P. Spanish and would often tutor or help my classmates and younger students in lower level Spanish. I also tutored one young man in Great Bridge until he just lost interest and his mother didn't want to pay for tutoring for a class he didn't like. I also have a four year old daughter to whom I speak Spanish to and have taught basic Spanish to. I currently hold a BA in Spanish with a minor in Secondary Education. Through my experience at O.D.U. Teaching is my passion. Throughout grade school and college, I have often found myself doing some form of teaching. In middle and high school, my teachers would ask me to help other students who were not grasping the material by peer tutoring. In college, I chose to dedicate a few hours a week to assist students with applied mathematics through both paid and volunteer services. I believe that a student who lacks the basic fundamental skills in reading and mathematics will struggle to stay focused in class and continually be disruptive and ultimately stop attending school. My teaching style is consistently accommodating especially to these types of students.
