I am a professional artist with works sold and shows in Galveston, Texas. I studied studio art for 8+ years, with expert training during my education at the University of Arizona. I have taught at both the middle and high school level in the subject of English. Within that broad subject I have taught World Literature, British Literature, Creative Writing, Rhetoric, Composition and more. I am currently a Professor at San Jacinto College where I teach collegiate level Composition. I have a hands-on approach to teaching. It is my desire to facilitate a student's own ability to self-teach, to solve and understand new problems as they occur. My life has been filled with teaching and working with children. At the age of ninteen as a very young mother I felt a sense of duty in teaching my children how to achive higher than they can ever have imagined.
