A Little Bit About Me...

As an online graduate at Kaplan University, I quickly became aware of my priorities. Students seeking help often emailed other classmates for assistance. I was often told there were very few students who responded to their emails; however, I was one of them. I earned my Associate degree through Allegany College of Maryland. I enjoyed this area of study so much that I decided to transfer to Kaplan University Online and continue my study in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting. I attended graduation in Chicago, IL, where I learned no matter what obstacles in life you face you can continue your education if your mind is set to do it. My overall GPA at Allegany College of Maryland was 3.6 and 3.5 at Kaplan University Online.

Not every method works for every child; with one exception, patience. I demonstrate and exemplify patience. If a child feels as though they are in an atmosphere where they are safe, free of ridicule and bias, then they are willing to perform. This process can be a give take scenario however. So, some flexibility is required as well, but eventually the student will become more comfortable with themselves and confident in what they are capable of.

As a graduate of a small, liberal arts, women's college, I have grown a strong passion for tutoring and helping others. I am currently studying to obtain a Master's in Public Health in order to ultimately educate the public about various health disparities. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have tutored in the subjects of English, Biology, Genetics, Chemistry and other various subjects. I have also helped grade and edit student papers.
