My comments on tutoring Poetry : Writing poetry and song lyrics has been a long-time hobby of mine. I have a few pieces of published poetry.

As a graduate I have done tutoring to enhance my credibility to teach possibly in the future with my major in criminal justice. I'm currently enrolled for my Masters in criminal justice and criminology, and I plan to futher my education to teach within that field. During the last past 3 summers I have tutored young children as well as been a mentor to their studies. I enjoy working in this field of study, and plan to continue to do so.

I take the role of an expert as well as a facilitator while I'm teaching. I try to maintain status as an expert among students by displaying detailed knowledge and by challenging students to enhance their competence. I also emphasize the personal nature of teacher-student interactions. I guide and direct students by asking questions, exploring options, suggesting alternatives, and encouraging them to develop criteria to make informed choices. Overall goal is to develop in students the capactiy for independent action, initiative, and responsibility.
I did my field experience teaching in Elementary and Middle schools. I have a bachelor degree in English Linguistics and a minor in teaching English as a second language.
