I believe that an appreciation of art and its history is best cultivated by examining the major themes and tropes of past art and design and structurally linking it to the social history and art of later periods and when possible to local art. I have a broad education in all periods of art, but I'm most proficient with art from the mid 18th-21st centuries. After finishing my undergraduate work, I was a substitute teacher for 7 months. I then went on to Belmont University where I recieved my Masters in Education, which required a one year student teaching placement. I have also served as a TCAP interventionalist where I helped students prepare for the statewide achievment test.
