In teaching large groups of people I’ve learned that different people have different requirements when it comes to learning. My style is to try to adapt to these requirements while keeping an eye on the objective. For instance, some people learn well by being provided exercises, performing these exercises on their own and receiving feedback. Others like to be taken through an exercise step-by-step.

Although I had a family and worked full time I decided to go back to school and get my advanced degree from Johns Hopkins University. It was a great school and I felt a wonderful sense of accomplishment by obtaining my degree. While obtaining a BA degree from Johns Hopkins University, I was inducted into the honor society Alpha Sigma Lambda, and president from 2000-2002. During that time I tutored adults with problems in basic math skills, reading and writing. Although I did not obtain a teaching certificate - I began my master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University in Adult Learning. I moved out of the area before I could finish the degree. A Little Bit About Me...

As a supervisor and trainer in the military, it was my responsibility to train the new individuals that came into the job. There was a lot of studying material that I constantly had to sit down and go over with them. We made flashcards, took notes, made up quizzes, did verbal question and answers, etc. I actually used to tutor math in High School when I was in an advanced Calculus class and have helped many friends with their college math. As a grad student, I am writing lots of essays which has really helped me with my English skills. I have a lot of academic experience that I would love to utilize while tutoring.
I have taught a few weapons classes and use of force classes as a security forces member in the Air Force. However, I have never taught classes on a regular basis.
