Creative, energetic tutor with special needs experience

I homeschooled a gifted third grader, including administering standardized end-of-grade test, for 1 year. I have tutored homeschooled first and third graders in math, reading, writing, social studies, and art for the last 6 months. I tutored a 8-12-year-old with autism spectrum for 4 years. Language Arts is one of my top subjects! I hold a Masters in Literacy from NC State University. Currently I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy and will hold this certification until 2019. My NC Teaching License cover Language Arts, Social Studies, Reading K-12, and Elementary Education. I have taught reading from K to 12 and adult reading at the college level. My career has been wide and varied from teaching EC in the elementary school to suppervising graduate students at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Professional Development School.

My teaching style is very flexible depending on the student. I select programs which best fits the student, rather than forcing a student into a specific program that I prefer. I began my French career roughly ten years ago. I knew that French would be at the very center of my existence. Therefore, I decided to dedicate my studies to the language. I even wound up living in France for over a year. I lived in Paris for six months and Montpellier for the rest of the year.
