Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I've been told I am very good at explaining a topic that someone has no experience with at all. I am on contract with NC States Computer Training Unit.
I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

When I first work with a student, I like to get to know the method of teaching that they have already experienced from their math teacher. This allows me to know what sort of methods and teaching styles they student has already been exposed to and thus allow me to elimnate strategies that do not work. Being in sync with the student's teacher is very important. I work very hard to make sure that I am teaching them in a way that they can relate to. My teaching style is a mixture of direct instruction and discovery based learning whose components depend on the student(s) at hand. In the third year of the course, things changed. We started from scratch, and learned point set topology as the basis for calculus.
