I have thirteen plus years of experience working with children in an educational setting in the state of Texas. I possess a wide variety of experiences working with children on or below grade level. I have taught in the general education classroom,(First grade - all subjects, Fourth grade - Reading/Language Arts/Writing) as a teacher and as an Inclusion Specialist in Math and Reading for second and third graders. College students are difficult to work with because they think they know it all. This was a blessing in disguise because it taught me not only to learn different ways to tutor a student, but also to figure out through body language and little signals as to whether or not they were actually comprehending the information. Teaching is not just giving information and hoping they retain it. I'm known for my patience working with students with foreign-language backgrounds and other disabilities such as a lack of attention and focus.
