I graduated with an AA Degree in Liberal Studies from Allan Hancock Community College. I then transferred to San Francisco State University where I earned my BA Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Sociology. Upon graduation, I began working as a Substitute Teacher for grades K-8 in Santa Maria, CA. During this time, I was responsible for teaching many subjects including English, math, music, history and physical education. I also conducted many small group tutoring sessions.
