I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. Over the past 5 years I have taught English Language Arts to sixth graders, and tutored in all 6th grade subject areas while using positive reinforcement to enhance productivity. In September, I will be sitting for the certification exam to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). I believe that everyone can learn and everyone has their strengths. We just have to figure out how to let their inner scholar come out to play.

I have been teaching elementary students since 1995 in 1st and 4th grades. I have taught all subject areas, especially language arts and math. I want to encourage students to think for themselves and to work through their learning in a way that makes sense to them. Whenever possible, I use highlighters, colored pencils, hands-on manipulatives, and other items to help students learn.
