During my freshman year at the University of Missouri, I showed a great understanding of two upper level calculus courses (Calculus II and Calculus III) and became a part-time math tutor for the university. While completing the requirements for a BS in Civil Engineering, I spent the last 3 years of the program tutoring math students in courses such as Calculus I, II, and a little bit of Calculus III. I also helped many students with Pre-Calculus or Math Analysis courses. My first teaching experience was as a high school senior where I was given the opportunity to teach a small group of 5th graders as part of the Missouri A+ program. We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. I spent three semesters as the academic chair for my fraternity enforcing study hours for fraternity brothers with lower GPA’s; tutoring students in algebra, calculus, physics, and computer science, among other fields. A Little Bit About Me...

As a senior civil engineering student at Washington University, I have received an outstanding education, especially in math and science. I will graduate in May with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. In the fall, I will pursue a master's degree in civil engineering. Even though my fortes are in math and science, I believe that I have more than sufficient written and communication skills that would be valuable in tutoring.
