In addition, I am proficient in many different computer programs, which has allowed me to train and mentor people in use of various computer software. In the past year I have direct experience leading classes and teaching students. I am comfortable writing reports and essays and have excellent knowledge of English and grammar.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with emphasis on Biological Sciences and Earth Sciences. I was a teacher in the public school system for 6 years. I taught Science from grade 7 through senior level, encompassing Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Physics. I went on to Medical School, where I got my Degree in Osteopathic Medicine. During Medical School, I was a tutor at Greenbrier Community College in the areas of Math and Science. I feel comfortable tutoring students of all ability levels, whether it is introductory or advanced.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is based on the student. One teaching style does not fit everyone. I have to see how the student learns and then adapt my teaching style to meet his or her needs. I love helping people, and especially when they get it. That is so rewarding.
I was a tutor while in college. I tutored students in History, Accounting, and Greek. I was a double major:Accounting and Christian Ministry. I was a substitute teacher in Indiana from 1990-1994. I taught everything from Kindergarden to High School. I was a couple of teacher's personal sub. I also was involved with the program that dealt with students with developmental disabilites. Currently, I am homeschooling my daughter. She is very gifted, so we are letting her interests lead us. She is the hardest one I have ever taught, but that is because I am so close to her.

I believe the greatest thing about knowledge is the ability to share it. I love to learn, but that is only the first step. The true reward comes in being able to impart that knowledge of someone else. However, each person learns differently. Whether in a classroom setting or one-on-one tutoring, it is imperative that the teacher learn how each student learns. This allows them to teach in a manner that produces the greatest results in students. It is also very important that a teacher cares for their students, that a student knows they are being taught by someone who wants them to learn and is excited about their education.
