I started by tutoring introduction to chemistry- college level at the University of Texas - El Paso where I attended. This was a part time student job that made me consider teaching. I then tutored chemistry, physics, and mathematics at a nearby high school. This was the preparation for the state exam (Texas) called TAKS. This introduced me to the high school level and I liked it. I went ahead and worked with the school district for one more semester before I was assigned a school for my internship/student teaching. After I graduated, I moved to Colorado (Greeley) where I worked at Northridge high school as a math teacher 2009-2010 school year.

A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a BS and MS in Biology. I started to tutor college student while an undergraduate at Mesa State College.I was awarded the GK-12 Fellowship for two years while at the University of Northern Colorado. This fellowship placed me in k-12 classrooms to aid in teaching sciene. During that time I taught kindergarten, second grade, 8th grade, and 9th - 12th grades.Later I was awarded the GAANN Fellowship and continued to teach colleged level Biology. I have experience in classroom setting, lab setting, and biology trips outside.
My style of teaching includes visual explanation (white board or chalk board), oral discussion, and hands-on manipulation when ever possible. I love helping others learn and get through tough subjects. I loved homework all throughout school and would love a chance to be able to help others with theirs. I am very patient and want them to figure things out for themselves with my help. I will not simply tell them the answers.
I graduated high school in the International Baccalaureate program with a 4.5 gpa and 30 college credits. I then went on to the University of Colorado starting out as a sophomore. I graduated 3 years later with a degree in Integrative Physiology. I have an extensive background in science and math.
