I have a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Special Education. I am certified as a Elementary and Special Education teacher through the SC state Department of Education. I do not ever yell or scare my students into behaving the way I have seen many teachers do. With many students this does not work. I respect my students and in turn they respect me. This creates an atmosphere where students want to behave for me.

I have a passion for teaching others and spreading my knowledge- I enjoy not only helping a student to understand, but to also become a mentor. I have been tutoring since middle school, and throughout high school. Since I have been in college, I have been eager to tutor again. My knowledge is mostly in high school and college biology, anatomy, and physiology. I started substitute teaching in September 2001 in the Greenville County School District in Greenville, South Carolina. The Greenville County School District uses a computer system to contact teachers to substitute in schools which starts calling substitute teachers at 5:30am on the school day. I taught K-12 all subjects and special ed. In September through December 2005 I substituted at Duncan Elementry School in Duncan, South Carolina K-3rd grade. January through June 2006 I substitute taught at Easley High School in Easley, South Carolina all classes.
Use of teaching materials is very important in my teaching. There are methods for teaching children to read and to do math that use materials sold by companies. One way to find out about teaching materials to use is to ask people who have home schooled.
