I see teaching as a challenge to me. I love to help students and Elderly people. While attending community college and later university in South Carolina, I tutored many fellow classmates. I began tutoring and mentoring students in secondary school and college in Greenville and realized what a powerful difference one can make by setting a positive example and being a good role model. I have received a Bachelors degree in both math and physics, as well as a Masters in applied math. All through college, and even back in high school, I excelled in both math and science. So, though my degrees are in math, I also have a well rounded knowledge of the rest of the sciences. I've also completed a Masters project that required me to explain technical concepts in a readily understandable way. I first start by explaining the material the way that I understand it. I also show examples to show how the problems are solved. If it doesn't seem to be taking then I start to break the problems down into simple steps and explain each step until the student understands. I also try to relate the material to them so they can relate to the material on a more personal level so that the information will stick with them better. During my time at Hampden-Sydney College, I was a math tutor, computer science tutor,and a physics tutor. I started tutoring my junior year of college where I just tutor math and computer science. I mostly help students with Calc I and Calc for Econ problems. In my senior year, I continued to tutor math, but I tutored stats instead of calculus. I also tutored physics.

My graduate work is in Policy and Management from the College of Information at the Florida State University.
