A Little Bit About Me...

have a BA and teaching degree. I can teach social Studies, English Grammar, reading, Italian Latin and Spanish. I have taught 7th and 8th graders. I prefer teaching at the Warren, public library and most interested in helping students to learn and to make progress kn language course, Spanish, Italian or Spanish. Also, reading literature and help students acquire better study habits. The class would be 415 an hour at the Warren, Ohio public libraary. Having assisted with homeschooling my brother for the last five years, I have extensive experience in tutoring. I have provided tutoring services in a wide variety of high school level classes ranging from English to mathematics to science. Moreover, I have provided tutoring services to university students in college level algebra, writing, and speech courses.
Everybody learns differently, and I vary my teaching style to meet the individual learning needs of the person whom I am tutoring. One major constant of my teaching style, though, is that I heavily emphasize repetition in one manner or another.

Making the learning session interactive makes a world of difference in teaching a language, and I find that incorporating play-acting into a learning session excites and motivates the student. Using the list of vocabulary words and rules of grammer the student is currently in the process of learning, I like to create a scenario with the student, stand up and walk away from the table, and pretend that we are actually at the dentist, the grocery store, etc. I also like to use topics that relate to the student's age and environment, thereby make the language 'real' to them.
I tutored fellow students regularly in Spanish, French, and German all 4 years of college, as I studied in Europe and Mexico, and was placed in advanced college levels my first semester in college.
