Drama is one of my top subjects! This is what I got my undergraduate degree in, so needless to say I love the subject! In addition to teaching students performance and audition basics, I love to teach theatre history and script analysis along with it.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like.

My teaching style is best described as a balance between a healthy relational presence and an interesting conveyor of teaching and information. In other words, I combine "popular, upbeat, and friendly" with "engrossing, unique and interesting." Sensitivity's employed in that I notice the demeanor and countenance of the learner to help the student remain hopeful, optimistic and goal-setting, or at least goal-friendly. I have a liberality in terms of classifying students: some are on the "linear, forward moving, measurable" end of the spectrum, and some are on the "organic, unique, quiet and absorbing" end. A Little Bit About Me...

In general, I like to assist the student visually and with real-life examples of how subjects such as chemistry, physics, and math can be applied to everyday life. My goal is to make learning fun not by lecturing, but encouraging the student to get involved and ask questions. Situations do arise when it is beneficial to lecture and let the student "soak up" knowledge through diagrams and examples on the board. I find both teaching styles work, and tailor each lesson based on the needs and capabilities of the student.
With 2 BS degrees, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, I have been exposed to all of the most important fundamental disciplines that children need to be successful today.
