I have always had a passion for literacy and working with children. After graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in English, I began working at an educational publishing company as an editor to help create textbooks for students. In 2008 I returned to school to get my M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction for Children's Literature, which was a mixture of literature and education (theory, psychology, curriculum) classes. The last 3 years I have worked as a volunteer with the Everybody Wins! literacy program and have volunteered weekly with high school students at my church.
