I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. Since then, I have taught reading and mathematics to both children with special needs and regular education children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I graduated from Georgetown University in '05 with a BA in Chinese. I won the Chinese Award, spent a semester at Peking University, and received a 7 on the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test. I grew up speaking Japanese. I took a few courses while at GU, spent a semester at Sophia University, and passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level One. I always did fine in my English courses and can help in that regard too. Up until college I was always a math/science guy, and while my calculus and statistics are rusty, I am confident in my ability to tutor up to and including algebra.
