I cater to the tutoring methods that I believe will be most effective for each student. I adjust my pace to fit what they comprehend and spend as much time as needed on a topic so that both I and the student are confident in their ability to accomplish their goals in a classroom setting.
I have over two years of professional tutoring experience both in classroom under professor supervision and one on one. I have been working with preschool to high school age students since 2004. I have always had tutoring positions, whether it was for my peers in college, volunteering for the Salvation Army, or running after school programs after graduating. I am a PA certified tutor, with conflict resolution, mentor, and CERT training (Community Emergency Rescue Team). It is important to me to have a profession where I feel that I am helping other people to progress in their lives. I like to immerse my students in the target language to ensure proper learning. I will practice verb drills, sing songs, and perform skits to ensure that the material is properly learned. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from IUP with a degree in Biology Education. I am certified in Biology and Middle School Science. I taught for one semester at Central Bucks School District where I taught Academic Biology, Astronomy and Oceanography. I then taught two years at Gateway School District where I taught 8th grade physical science. I now have a permanent position at Yough School District where I teach 7th grade Life Science. I am also currently pursuing my Masters in Education.
The purpose of my teaching is to allow every student to succeed. I will try any way possible to reach this goal for every child. Working in the sciences, I feel that inquiry learning is important and hands-on experience is essential.
