A Little Bit About Me...

I would to teach math because I have been applying math my entire life. I have a four year degree in mechanical engineering technology. I have used math extensively in my everyday job. The last sixteen years I have used math to figure out complex equations. My problem solving skills are good. I teach my kids math and reading.

During my years at The Ohio State University, I earned a B.A. in Psychology, and completed a year and a half of Masters work in Social Work. After completing my B.A., I was hired as a professional tutor. I tutored college students in various subjects including English and essay writing, Psychology, Reading, some Spanish, and Social Studies.
I love working with children, and feel that I can relate to them because I struggled in my early school years. While attaining my genetics degree at Ohio State, I worked at the OSU Chimpanzee Center. After graduating, I started working for the Department of Agriculture in the Weights and Measures division. It was my job to try to "trick" the scales before they could become available for commercial use. I moved back home to Coshocton when I got married. I quickly found a job teaching adults within our county's GED program. I easily became the math and science "guru" with my background and began getting my Masters in Education from Muskingum University. Now I train other adult education directors around the state how to improve their own adult education programs. I have spent the past three years focusing on the instruction of math and language.

I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there.
