I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.
I have a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 6th. I have home schooled them the past 9 years. They have very different learning styles which has helped me to learn to teach in different ways to accommodate their needs. I am patient and easy going and I love helping kids.

My approach is to establish a relationship with small talk and introductions. A parent must be present at all times. I will keep up with the child's work load in the respective subject and also be in contact with their teacher. But my inital style will be repetition, which I found to be most productive during my time in the military. However, I realize that there many different methods to teaching. I will offer as many tools or resources that are needed to assist the child in learning the subject matter. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently relocated to the Huntersville area. I recently graduated from UNCW with a degreee in Psychology with a focus on children. Since middle school, working with children has been my passion. I realized my dream after some of my cousins came over to America from the war torn country of Liberia and were having a very hard time adjusting. I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill's Master's Program for Rehabilitation but declined after fearing it would take me down the path of working with the elderly instead of working with children. As a student who was assisted by tutoring, I would be glad to help other students achieve excellence in their studies and gain confidence in themselves. I have been a tutor since I was in a freshmen in high school. I have tutored students in English and reading skills. I tutored a group of sixth graders, who approved their state academic scores. It was a great joy for them to see they could do it.
I enjoy tutoring a great deal because you can help the students gain confidence in themselves to do better with hard work and discpline. Everyone learns different and I try to find the best way to incorpate all styles of learning into my tutoring, so everyone is learning.
