I am patient yet firm. I expect students to be accountable for their own success; I want my students to become self-sufficient. With proper guidance and encouragement most students will succeed if not excel.
I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE. In addition to my high school experience, I have been tutoring adult learners for the past three years, becoming the program manager two years ago. I am patient with students and encourage them to learn at their own pace. Students learn at a different rates and have different comprehension abilities. Some are able to absorb a material faster than others. But they will all learn the subject matter if given the chance and encouragement and by introducing the subject/explaining it in different ways with patience and concern.
