As an educator in the school district I have multiple areas of experience that include academics in math, science and reading. I also have experience in dealing with multiple levels of reading levels that are conducive to cognitive, behavioral, or emotional problems that prevent optimal learning to occur and have utilized mant techniques to help students achieve their individual goals. As a teacher I have always desired to teach in a way that I know I am communicating with my students. My teaching style includes making eye contact with my students to make sure they are with me. If I sense that their eyes have "glazed over," it is time for a change of pace. I might interject some humor or tell a short story to give them a break. I know that learning is hard work. I would also use games and projects to give them a change of pace. Sometimes I would assign a lesson for them to teach. Taking classes on field trips as an occasional alternative to classroom teaching is another tool I use, giving my students a passive learning experience. I strive to make the learning experience enjoyable.

I have teaching and tutoring experience at the high school and college level. I love expanding their minds and sharing my knowledge with them. I will be a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Superior in just a few short weeks with my degree in English and Communications. I will be moving to Champlin just after the first of the year and am looking to continue tutoring.
Being overwhelmed with information that is just not making sense can be frustrating and most teachers don't have the time to give individual attention to each student.
