My teaching style is largely reliant on the principles of systematic and explicit instruction. When teaching a new concept or reviewing a concept that the student is struggling with, I like to begin with content with which the student feels comfortable and familiar. Thus, we can build up confidence and feelings of competence before we move on to harder material. In addition, I believe in the individuality of the learning process. I have tutored for Acers tutoring in Orlando for a full year. I have full experience with teaching reading and writing, as well as somer lower level algebra and mathematic skills. The kids have ranged from ages 8-14. As well, I have been giving guitar lessons to kids between the ages of 10-14. The children have all been able to pick up quickly, and being a song writer, I encourage the kids to seek full creativity in their music and learning. In college, I've spent my time volunteering with the youth group, and helping mentor kids in the middle school age.
