My comments on tutoring Biology : I can help students in the basics of Biology, such as ecology, basic cell makeup, water cycle, etc.

Hi! I am a sophomore in high school and I love tutoring kids! I've done some tutoring before in my neighborhood, and at my school. They all seem to like my teaching style and all of the students I've tutored have reported better results. I do tutoring mainly because I love helping people and seeing them succeed under my guidance. Please reach out to me if you're interested!
I usually teach by reviewing the lesson that kids don't understand, but I'm open to changing my style according to each type of student!

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored many kids in different fields including math, science, and English. I am a recent neuroscience graduate at Michigan State University and have quite a broad background in science so I would be able to help in many of the fields that I have listed for that as I have taken some advanced courses in that field. I also have experience working in tutoring centers and tutoring at my high school when I was part of the National Honor Society, in which I was more focused on math tutoring. I would be happy to help in tutoring in any of the subjects that I listed which I do currently has listed, as more focused on math and science for elementary through parts of high school

A Little Bit About Me...

Being no stranger to difficult classroom settings, I understand that ideal teaching conditions rarely exist. I enjoy to challenge of encouraging more distracted students to learn, and possess the compassion and patience to work with most students. If a teacher can earn a student's respect, which comes easier for a younger instructor such as myself, then positive reinforcement has a much greater impact on that student's motivation to learn. My experience teaching lends the skill to gain student's trust in confidence allowing me to achieve great things with any student, all of whom deserve positive roles models and passionate teachers.
I worked as a substitute teacher for a charter high school in St. Louis, MO directly out of undergrad. I taught most subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, History and Language Arts. I feel comfortable in my ability to teach most subjects ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

What more better experience then to start at home by helping my little brother and sister. For the past five years I have tutored my brother and sister in many different subjects. I have done math, reading, science, history. Basically all elementary subjects.I am Bilingual and speak both English, and Spanish fluently.
I try to make the subjects fun for them. For example i bring out cubes, candy, or fruits for math problems so they can visually see the mathamatical problem. If its science I try to make 3D projects so they can better understand, for example the solar system. I try to get there intrest so they can have fun and not be bored and feel like its a waist of time. I know everyone learns in different ways and I understand that because im the same way. Im very patient, and very easy going. My goal is to give them the education they need to succeed in life.

As an undergraduate majoring in chemistry, I was provided with many opportunities to use my abilities to help those classmates of mine who had questions or needed extra help. During the last 8 years, I have had the opportunity to tutor students in chemistry, basic mathematics, and work with elementary school afterschool program for at risk children. I have extensive experience with research papers and lab reports.

A Little Bit About Me...

As I mentioned, I have 3 younger siblings-I've been helping with homework forever, and I understand the frustrations that naturally occur when concepts seem elusive. Additionally, I am completely aware that I'm not perfect; I've taken a lot of upper level, difficult courses, and know what it's like to have trouble, sometimes with the easiest concepts. However, consistent interactions with a teacher helped me to find success in so many gruesome classes (Advanced Computational Biology, anyone?). Most importantly, I know from my own experiences that there can be such a small difference between failing and excelling in class, and that anyone is capable of finding success with the confidence boost that just a little extra attention brings.
As a recent college graduate (and current grad student), I am very much in tune with the subjects I am able to teach, and well versed in most fields ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to help people, and I thrive in relationships with others that leave a meaningful impression on both the giver and the receiver. I personally have always tried to achieve academic excellence, and I love to assist others in doing the same. I am a good listener, patient, easy going, and understanding. I recognize that all students learn differently, and I try to tailor my teaching to the individual student's learning style and needs.

I also gained skills in grammar while writing research papers, lab reports, and essays in various classes. I worked in the academic center for excellence on campus for two years tutoring fellow students in chemistry, biology, genetics, and mathematics.

More About This Tutor...

I care deeply about the next generation and wish to impart on them a desire to learn. I have seen a student change from a surly individual to one who participated in class and became more consistent in homework. I believe that respect, encouragement, and care can motivate a child to go beyond his best and succeed not only in school, but also in life. Being a part of the education world is not only a huge responsibility; it is a privilege few attain with the joy I have experienced during the past few years.
Groups are beneficial because there are a variety of opinions, abilities, and skill levels, thus teaching students the importance of unity in the workplace and classroom. Buddies are important because they give students someone other than the teacher to go to with questions that may seem "silly" and give them someone with whom to share concerns. Books and technology can be used t ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I know that students can work and achieve if the right kind of motivation is given. Each child has their own learning style and interest which needs to be taken into consideration when working with thenm and then to be taught in that mode and style. My goal for the student is to learn through motivation when the interest is used in the lessons which will then enable the student to relate the lesson to their world. I am a firm believer that it is the choices that the student makes that makes success or failure and to take responsibility for these choices. It is modeling and team that makes success for the child.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Hope College in 2008 with my Bachelors in Social Work. My senior year internship was working within the Grand Rapids Public Schools teaching life skills and abstinence to both high school and middle school students. I then became a Youth Treatment Specialist at Wedgwood Christian Services. In my first year at Wedgwood, I had the opportunity to work as an education specialist within the on-campus school where I was with students through all of their classes for one day a week. I have had plenty of experience working with teens in individual as well as group settings in my different employment opportunities. I am currently working on my MA in Counseling through Liberty University.

A Little Bit About Me...

My love for teaching goes as far back as my high school years. Specifically, in 2004, when I graduated from high school, I decided to take a gap year before enrolling in college. During that time, I worked as a teacher’s assistant in a first grade class. That experience was both enjoyable and humbling for me because aside from performing my assigned duties to enhance teaching and learning, I served as a mentor to the young children. The realization that they looked up to me gave me a renewed sense of work ethic, challenging me to work hard and give off my very best. I also learned to keep myself motivated and energized when in a high-pressure situation involving vulnerable groups of people.
