Elementary and Special Needs Tutor. Teaching to the Child.

I have been a certified special education teacher for 10 years. I have had the fortune to teach in various environments in a handful of different states. I have taught elementary students for a majority of my career, but have also managed to squeeze in high school and middle students for three years. The flexibility of my certification has allowed me to teach students with varying needs in the classroom and to teach Core Curriculum state standards, an alternative curriculum, and functional skills.

I love helping children learn.

I have helped my cousins, which are 9 and 11, in school for years with reading and writing. I am also able to help in environmental science and economics. In high school I completed both with an A-. I have also taken A computer class and a business class at Muskegon Community College and excelled at both. I am able to help a student learn to type more effectively. I am also able to tailor my teaching style around the student.
I meet the student and work around their specific needs. If they are more energetic then I find things that will not only help them learn but will also allow them to use some of their excess energy. However if the student is more laid back I find more calm and relaxing ways to help them understand. I have a rewards system that allows the student to earn tickets that they can later use to get things that they can use.

Loads of ASVAB success stories, I'm on multiple websites.

Hi! While I love tutoring, this particular site charges for contact, which I am not in a position to support. I am, however, also easy to find on a rivaling website (ends in ANT), just look for the ASVAB tutor in Muskegon who has been rated and reviewed. My pet project for years has been my ASVAB tutoring program. I began helping men and women get through the ASVAB test in 1998 (when I enlisted) and over time I developed a tutoring system that has been applied to dozens of successful military applicants. In reality, though, I've been tutoring longer than that. I helped tutor younger children when I was in middle school and I continued to tutor and mentor in a variety of arenas for the next twenty years.
