I have a BS degree in chemistry and an MS degree in math. I currently teach at the college level for various colleges including dual credit courses in many high schools. Math Tutor looking to offer help to those who need it

I tutor mostly in math, but am also available for a few other subjects as well. I like to tutor one on one with the student. It seems to make them more comfortable when asking questions. Also, it gives me a chance to deal specifically with the problems they are experiencing in the subject.
Recently, I have taken a college algebra class and a business calculus class, both of which I maintained an A in. I have a little tutoring experience from junior high. One of my instructors requested that I help some of the other students in my math class. I also have been tutoring my family in some of their college math classes. I was recently suggested by my college algebra professor for a tutoring position at the college, but had to turn it down because I was relocating. Math can lead to greater success.

I have experience tutoring elementary math, algebra, geometry, college algebra , and preparation for the ASVAB and SAT tests. While tutoring my students I not only explain the method in solving a math problem, but I also challenge them with leading questions. For the 2011-2012 school year, I was a math tutor for Charles E. Nash Elementary school in Ft. worth/TX. In the evening and on weekend, I also tutor students in grade level ranging from 4th graders to college students. The most effective methods for teaching math to any students level is to make it relevant, connect math content to every days' life. We use math everyday and yet most of our youngster don't even realize that, especially when it comes to higher math level like calculus or even algebra.
