Part of the advantage I have as a math tutor in particular is the fact that I failed math miserably in highschool myself. I have only learned what I know because I was bound and determined not to let any subject get the best of me. Unlike many math teachers who naturally understand math, I have the benefit of understanding precisely why students don't understand and the patience to explain a topic as many different ways as possible until the student and I hit on a way that works.

I love teaching, and get along great with student, parents, and other teachers. I am constantly searching for ways to make learning easier and a better fit for the student. I hold the personal belief that, “All children are special and learn differently. Each possesses the right and the ability to learn. It is my responsibility to ensure that all children receive the knowledge and tools necessary to reach their full potential.” I think learning needs to be presented in different ways for children to learn because I do not think there is one “right” way to learn. Since not all people learn the same, I try to make sure that I can think of fun, creative, and unique methods for presenting materials.
