My experience in teaching six different courses has allowed me to teach all types of learners. I believe that through teaching Academic Intervention Services I improved my ability to help lower level students and be able to break difficult concepts down into smaller skills/steps that are more understandable. Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. I want my students to be engaged but I want them to encompass and enjoy what they are doing as well.
