As I am a current Ph.D. student in English Literature, I have an immense interest in education--not only my own education but also the education of others. As I have been working on my two graduate degrees--an MA and a Ph.D in English Literature--I have been fully invested in preparing myself to become a teacher of English, literature, and composition. My teaching style purposefully reflects the great teachers I have had. While I consider my subject and field of study greatly important, I realize that all work and no play kills desire. A subject, especially English, has to come alive; students have to relate. Of course grammar is always the hard part to "dress up," but that's the fun of teaching. Life and destiny urged me to earn a teacher's certification in Texas, where I later worked as an ESL 4th-5th grade teacher in the Waco (Texas) Independent School District for three years.
