My strongest suit in my teaching style is probably the many ways that I would approach teaching a certain principle. If the student does not understand one way to approach a problem, I try to best to help them understand and learn another way. I feel like since everyone learns differently, a tutor should approach a problem from as many angles as possible. My teaching style is also very patient. I suppose the saying "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime" would apply to my style. I try to make sure the student understands the principles behind the type of problem and not just how to do the one problem. That way, if they see another problem like the one they just learned, they can apply what the learned and do the second problem.

A Little Bit About Me...

My tutoring style is the same as my teaching style which I learned from teaching the eighth graders at Friends School of Atlanta. The young students were very honest about what they wanted. I learned to be very honest with them. These kids were very bright. I gave them a lot of homework and pushed them to learn as much as I knew they were capable of learning. They always grumbled whenever I upped the standards for the class, but they knew that they could count on me to help them. After they achieved the high standards on their exams, I always treated them to smoothies at the local MochaMatch. I had so much fun with them.
